I bought a really nice new webcam, but I can’t find any good PC software for it. I’m considering attempting to make one myself that suits my needs:
It’s a high resolution camera, but ultimately I’m only going to upload low-res shots online; therefore, I want it to be able to do digital zooming. Not even zooming really, it’s just that most software I found, whether I have my camera running in 1280×1024 or 800×600, it records the same area. What I want is something that can record 1280×1024 and clip out that part in the middle that I want to be 800×600.
Web integration, Java or Flash based, just somewhat real-time.
That’s actually the easy part, the hard part is what the hell am I going to record with this thing anyway?

This is the return of Enter-Key.net, my blog that has gone down and up repeatedly over the past 5 years. This will be the central location for the various projects that I work on including websites, applications, games, photography, and art. I’ll try to keep my rants to a minimum because that’s what twitter is for.
